How to Backup & Restore Samsung Phone Data with Kies

Date on mobile phone can be accidentally lost due to many reasons, so doing regular backup for your phone contents become necessary. Samsung Kies is a professional software used to manage files on various Samsung devices. Steps to backup mobile phone data with Samsung Kies

Step 1 Connect your Samsung with your computer
Install and launch the program on your computer. Then connect your Samsung phone with your computer via a USB cable. If you get a window showing you your device as below, please click the "Backup/Restore" tab on the top of the window.



Step 2 Select items to back up
Now please select items you want to back up. You can select all items or part of them.



After that, please click the Backup button in the upper right corner to start the backup.

Step 3 Buck up and finish
You can see the progress on the small window. When the backup is done, you can see the small window as below. That means your phone data has been backed up successfully. Please click the "Complete" button.



You can continue to restore previously backed up data to your Samsung phone, if you need.

Steps to restore Samsung phone data with Samsung Kies

Step 1 Connect your Samsung with your computer
Run the program and connect your Samsung phone with your computer. If you get a window as below, please click the "Backup/Restore" tab on the top of the window.
After getting an interface as below, please click the "Restore" tab to move to the recovery window.



Step 2 Select backed up file and the items to recover
Now you have to select the backed up file and the items you want to recover. After that, please click the "Restore" button in the upper right corner to start recovering.



Step 3 Restoring and finish
You can see the restoring progress from the small window. When it is completed, please click the Complete button.



With Samsung Kies, you can back up data saved on your Samsung device to your computer or recover the previously backed up contents to your Samsung phone. Besides, don't forget that you can also use the Samsung Data Recovery software to restore data from Samsung.
